PageShare Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is CoBrowsing?

A: Collaborative browsing (also known as cobrowsing) is a software-enabled technique that allows a person in one location to see and  "share" in real-time, the same Web pages with another person or persons regardless of locations.   For example, a customer having difficulty placing an order could call a customer service representative who could then enable "PageSharing" to see exactly what is on the customer's screen.  An Agent could then use a shared pointer or fill out forms with the customer online.   PageShare's cobrowsing enables a company and a customer to "share a single view online".

Q: How does PageShare work?

A: When a person clicks on the "start PageSharing" button on a Web site, she initially creates a PageShare ID, which then activates the PageSharing session.  Any user can join this PageShare session by entering in the Session ID.  Once two or more user's are PageSharing, they are able to "surf the net" together using pointers and shared form filling features.

Q: How do I make the shared pointer work?

A: On your mouse, simply use the "right click" function to view the shared pointer.  Right clicking on a LINK or a PICTURE (.GIF or .JPG file) enables the shared pointer to appear on the browsers of all users who are in the same PageShare session.

Q: How does the joint-form filling work?

A: The person who is filling out the text form simply clicks outside the form box after filling it with the appropriate content.  This will then prompt an automatic fill-in on the other PageShare users' computer screens.

Q: What makes PageShare better than similar products on the market?

A: PageShare creates a completely transparent user experience – no additional downloads, no new applications to learn, and real-time interaction with another user.  PageShare incorporates the latest technologies to create this transparency including: low bandwidth requirement, form synchronization, shared pointer with same spot scrolling, and cookie and chat support.

Q: What do I need to run PageShare on my Web site?

A: Nothing other than an Internet connection. PageShare requires no plug-ins or insecure Java applets.

Q: What type of Internet Connection is required to run PageShare?

A: A minimum of 28.8kbps is required to run PageShare effectively; fast access or broadband connections are optimal.

Q: How do I install PageShare on my Web site?

A: PageShare's installation is quick and hassle-free.  We send you a link to install on your site and as soon as it is installed, you can start PageSharing immediately!  The interface is intuitive and no training is necessary.

Q: Can I use PageShare to browse all kinds of Web pages?

A:  PageShare works well on most standard Web pages. However, if you are looking at a site that contains complicated JavaScript code, you may experience some difficulty.
